Two bicycle patrol officers and a public employee were injured when a speeding white truck ran them over in Washington DC. The driver and a passenger of the vehicle were arrested, and police stated that terrorism could not be ruled out as a motive. The fact that Conservative candidate Ben Bradley won the Mansfield seat after 94 years of Labour rule may have come as a surprise for some. So much of a surprise that initially Labour candidate Sir Alan Meale was declared the winner by acting returning officer Jacqueline Collins.
