A former leader of the FALN (Armed Forces of National Liberation) and a Puerto Rican nationalist, Oscar Lopez Rivera is one of the last prisoners Barack Obama commuted during his presidency. Opponents call Oscar a terrorist and supporters compare him to Nelson Mandela. In honor of his release, Lopez Rivera was set to healine the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City, but in light of his controversial commutation he decided to step down.
