Anand Sharma accuses Modi of portraying false image of development among voters

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma hit out at the BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi saying bringing Modi to the forefront portrayed the bankruptcy of the BJP and it was a disaster harping on the so called “Gujarat model”, as the debt incurred during latter’s tenure on state treasury has risen due to revenue loss and crony capitalism. Sharma further said Modi was portraying a false picture of development among the voters. Commenting on Modi’s wide advertising and publicity campaign, Sharma alleged that BJP has ensured that it puts all the focus on the projection of one man.

LS Polls: Voting begins in Delhi

New Delhi, April 10 (ANI): Polling began on Thursday in Delhi, in the phase three of the nine-phase of 16th Lok Sabha elections. Delhiites are voting to elect their seven representatives from the seven constituencies of Delhi which are- Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi. Voters have queued up outside the polling booths eagerly waiting for their turn. Security forces have stepped up safety measures to ensure safe and fearless environment for voters. With the emergence of the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012, the voters here will witness a triangular fight on all the seven Lok Sabha seats between Congress, BJP and AAP. As many as 150 candidates, including Kapil Sibal (Congress), Harsh Vardhan (BJP), Rajmohan Gandhi (AAP), Manoj Tiwari (BJP), Ajay Maken (Congress) are in the poll fray.

Have no interest in directing films: Akshay Kumar

New Delhi, April 10 (ANI): Action star Akshay Kumar is busy producing films, but says he has no interest in donning a director's hat in the future. Akshay was present at the trailer launch of the film Fugly, which he has produced with Ashwini Yardi under their Grazing Goat Pictures banner. Asked if he ever plans to turn to direction, he said: "I don't want to go into direction I am happy where I am. I even don't want to direct. Why should I do anything that I don't know?" Currently, Akshay is busy shooting for his next film Gabbar.

Police tighten security in Maoist hit Odisha ahead of LS Polls

Bhubaneswar, Apr 9 (ANI): Police beefed up security in Maoist-inflicted constituencies of Odisha on Wednesday, a day ahead of mammoth election in the region. The hotbeds of Maoists in the region are under tight security blanket as the world's largest democracy is holding its general election between April 07 and May 12. Special security has been deployed at polling booths that have been marked as the most sensitive.
