Patna, Sep 12 (ANI): Even as senior BJP leader LK Advani appears to be holding to his view that Narendra Modi___s elevation as PM candidate should be postponed till upcoming assembly elections in five states, few party leaders maintained that Modi is the correct choice for the party. Nand Kishore Yadav, who heads the BJP in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday, stated that the public wants to see Narendra Modi and no one else as the prime minister of the country.

Law & order situation under control in Muzaffarnagar: UP Police

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 12 (ANI): ADG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar on Thursday stated that the situation in Muzaffarnagar is under control. He further informed that curfew relaxation has been given from 10 am to 5 pm and if the situation remains stable then the police will extend the relaxation timings. He also said that enquiry and action will be taken against the police officials who are found guilty of not pursuing their duty properly when the violence took place.

Japan vows to India to finish infra projects fast to boost manufacturing sector

New Delhi, Sept 12 (ANI): Japan promised to India that it would extend cooperation in the early completion of one of country's largest infrastructure projects, the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor, which once finished would boost New Delhi's manufacturing capabilities and woo more foreign investors. Both the countries conducted a review meeting on the progress of the Delhi-Mumbai and Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridors in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by India's Commerce Minister Anand Sharma and his counterpart from Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi. Speaking on the importance of the Delhi-Mumbai corridor, Anand Sharma said that the project would increase the country's exports.

India to send its first satellite to mars

Bangalore, Sept 12 (ANI): India's space agency unveiled details about the country's first satellite to Mars that would seek to find out the presence of methane gas, a precursor for life, on the red planet. Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had worked upon the country's upcoming, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) and is set to launch it between September 21 to 27. On the sidelines of news conference at Bangalore, the Project Director of the mission, Arunan, said that it was a perfect combination of science and technology. Programme Director of the mission, M. Anna Durai, said that satellite would be carrying scientific instruments, including a methane sensor, with itself.

India to fund 144 million dollars power transmission project in Liberia

New Delhi, Sept 12 (ANI): India's decision to extend 144 million US dollars credit to Liberia will further enhance engagements between the two nations. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stated this in New Delhi after signing an agreement with the visiting Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Sirleaf flew to India on September 09 at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee. India has extended this credit to Liberia for development of power transmission and distribution projects to reduce the gap of power shortage in Liberia. Further he said the two sides have decided to enhance cooperation in a number of areas, including agricultural research, healthcare, small and medium enterprises, science and technology, education and skill development. On her part, Sirleaf thanked Singh and the people of India for their support in maintaining peace in Liberia.
