AAP-BJP scuffle over Kejriwal's detention turns violent

New Delhi, Mar 5 (ANI): AAP supporters faced police batons and water cannons in Delhi as they clashed with police personnel during a protest outside the BJP headquarters against the detention of Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat on Wednesday. Kejriwal was briefly detained by the Gujarat police for allegedly violating the model code of conduct, hours after the Lok Sabha election schedule was announced.

New Delhi, March 05 (ANI): As AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal was detained in Gujarat on Wednesday, BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that some people think that they are above law and that is why they land up in such situation. Reacting over the same, JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that this is nothing more than dictatorship by the state government and that it is to the relief that Kejriwal was not shot at. Kejriwal detained in Gujarat, Prashant Bhushan questions 'arbitrary act'

New Delhi, March 05 (ANI): After AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal was detained in Patan district, north Gujarat for alleged violations of the model code of conduct, party leader Prashant Bhushan questioned on the 'arbitrary act' and asked if the state comes under India Constitution or has made its separate Constitution. Police gun down two Maoists in encounter in Odisha

Koraput, Mar 5 (ANI): Police killed two Maoists in an encounter in a forest area near Pottangi in Koraput district of Odisha, and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from them. Inspector General of Police (IGP) (south-western range), Yashbant Jethwa said that rebels opened fire at the security forces who were on a routine combing operation and in retaliation, the security forces also opened fire in which the Maoists were killed. The other Maoists fled the area, leaving behind the bodies of their slain comrades. Maoists are rebels who try to sink deep roots and form links after decades of neglect. Equipped with weaponsthe Maoists want to cripple economic activity. Security personals of late are coming down heavily upon the left wing extremists, denting their confidence and spreading the fear of law.
