A bomb exploded outside a metro station in the centre of the Egyptian capital Cairo late Tuesday wounding 12 people. The explosive targeted policemen standing guard close to a court house nearby, officers said.

BJP says Pakistan violating ceasefire out of frustration

New Delhi/Akhnoor, Oct 15 (ANI): Pakistan is still continuing to violate the ceasefire even after being severely warned by the Indian government. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said on Wednesday that Pakistan is violating ceasefire out of frustration since it has been cornered internationally. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the government should take strict measures against the continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Nine Pakistani and eight Indian civilians have been killed since security forces from both sides started heavy shelling more than a week ago along the international border in Kashmir. Almost 20,000 Indian civilians have fled their homes in the lowlands around India's Jammu region to escape the fighting, taking refuge in schools and relief camps.

SC directs AIIMS to review Asaram's medical records

New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the All India Institute of Medical Sciences to review the medical records of Asaram, who was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year old girl at his ashram in Jodhpur. SC further directed the medical board to submit the report within four weeks. Asaram's bail plea will be considered after all the witnesses in the case have deposed before the trial court.

Farmers in Kashmir unable to reap crops under shadow of Pak shelling

Kathua, Oct 15 (ANI): Continuous shelling has compelled the farmers of 57 border villages at the zero line along the India Pakistan border to leave their crop unreapened or cut it raw as they flee to safer places to save their lives. Since the beginning of October, Pakistan and India have been firing mortars and shells across the border, leading to the highest death toll in a decade among civilians on both sides. According to local media reports, more than 12 people have been killed and 64 others injured along the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary over the past two weeks in Kashmir. Farmers worry that they cannot reap the crop they have sown after investing huge amounts. Villagers say they are witness to the preparations by Pakistan for attacking the Indian border villages. Owing to the constant fear, many farmers cut their raw crop in the hope of paying off their bank loans.

Maharashtra polls: Raj, Uddhav, Nitin show confidence, cast their votes

President Pranab Mukherjee arrives in Finland

Finland, Oct 15 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Finland on a two-day official visit after completing his visit to Norway. He was received by Secretary of State Peter Stenlund at the airport in Helsinki. IAF fighter jet crashes into hamlet near Pune during training session

Pune, Oct 15 (ANI): An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashed at Wagholi village, 20 kilometres from Pune city airfield in Maharashtra, during a training session. The Sukhoi-30MK1 jet, which is one of the main aircrafts in the Indian Air Force, was introduced in the Air Force fleet in 1997 and has been considered safe. Both pilots ejected safely and no loss or injury to life has been reported. Locals heard a loud noise and saw the plane fall out of the sky. Police and Air Force teams rushed to the spot after they were informed of the crash. India has 200 Sukhois in its fleet and 70 more jets have been ordered from the Russian manufacturer. But many jets have been reported to have made emergency landings due to malfunctioning.
