Senior Congress leader R. Gundu Rao on Wednesday assumed charge as President of its Karnataka unit at a massive rally at the Bengaluru Palace grounds here. Party President Rahul Gandhi had on July 4 appointed Rao to the post. Party's new Working President Eshwar Khandre also took charge with Rao. Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, who has been the party's president since 2010, resigned in line with its policy of holding one post. Rao, 48, is a fourth-time MLA from Gandhinagar assembly constituency in Bengaluru central and second son of former Congress Chief Minister R. Gundu Rao.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in visited Rajghat and paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi here on Tuesday. Moon Jae was accompanied by his wife Kim Jung-sook and Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs General (retd) VK Singh among other officials. After paying homage, President Moon signed the visitor's book and was presented with a bust of Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier in the day, President Moon was accorded a ceremonial reception and inspected a guard of honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Thereafter, the South Korean President met his Indian counterpart Ram Nath Kovind and his wife Savita Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-ranking officials. Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will hold official talks with President Moon at Hyderabad House, which will be followed by an official lunch. The two leaders will also address the India-South Korea CEOs roundtable.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in took a ride in Delhi Metro on Monday ahead of their visit to the Samsung plant in Noida. Commoners were surprised to see the two leaders in the metro as they waved to them and even posed for selfies. The South Korean President is on a three-day visit to India, having arrived in New Delhi on Sunday evening. He and his wife, Kim Jung-sook, were received by Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs General (retd) VK Singh. South Korea has been playing a pivotal part in the making of Delhi Metro. This is not the first time when Prime Minister Modi took a foreign dignitary on a metro ride.

During their visit, the two leaders listened to a few of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajans sung by classical singer Vidya Shah. The South Korean President is on a three-day visit to India, having arrived in New Delhi on Sunday evening. He and his wife, Kim Jung-sook, were received by Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs General (retd) VK Singh. Gandhi Smriti is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, situated on Tees January Road in the capital. It is the location where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last 144 days of his life and was assassinated on January 30, 1948.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Sunday evening arrived in India on a four-day state visit. Soon after his arrival, he visited the Akshardham Temple. Over the next two days, Moon would be meeting President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. On Monday, he is scheduled to meet Sushma Swaraj and visit Samsung Electronics facility in Noida. On Tuesday, he would be accorded ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan followed by a meeting with Naidu. The same day, he would meet Modi.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tobgay held delegation-level talks at the Hyderabad House. Tobgay, who arrived on a three-day visit to India on Thursday, met External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj.

Ultra-Marathon runner Sameer Singh, who completed marathon run of 13,750 Km in a span of seven months and six days, was felicitated at Attari-Wagah border on Friday. He had registered himself in 'Bharat Ke Veer' app and travelled all around the country to complete his run. Sameer began his journey on December 1 from Wagah before he travelled towards Kanyakumari, Kolkata, all the states of North-East, Nepal border, and from the Himalayas he reached Jammu through Srinagar. He faced all the tough climates and challenges to scale distance of 13,750 km across India.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday met Miss India 2018 second runner-up Shreya Rao Kamavarapu in Amaravati. The honorary meeting took place at the State Secretariat here.
