A 23-year-old nursing student from Ahmedabad died after allegedly being pushed by his friend from the fourth floor of a hotel in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Ronak Choudhary, a private nursing college student, had come to Bengaluru from his hometown to attend his exams along with his friends Royal Choudhary and Apoorva Choudhary.

On Wednesday, Ronak was pushed by his friend Royal from the balcony of their room at around 11.30 pm. Ronak succumbed to his injuries. The police have arrested Royal on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder as he allegedly pushed Ronak resulting in his immediate death.

The trio did not attend any classes but used to come to Bengaluru only to appear for their exams. On Wednesday, a conversation between Ronak and Royal about a girl that they had a crush on turned into an argument.

Ashwini tried to calm them down after the argument heated up. Ronak went to the balcony and was followed by Royal. Royal then pushed Ronak from the balcony, according to police.

Royal, Ronak and Apoorva were among 130 students who had come from Ahmedabad to write the exam, according to police. Royal, however, did not admit to his crime and told the police that Ronak had accidentally fallen from the balcony. But eyewitnesses said that it was Royal who pushed Ronak during their heated quarrel.

"We have informed Ronak's family. The postmortem will be conducted once his parents reach the city. A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under section 304 has been registered and Royal has been arrested," a police officer told The Times of India.
