India Kawasaki Motor has launched the 2018 version of Ninja 300. Kawasaki has opted for aggressive localisation for the new Ninja and the most affordable full-faired Kwacker is now even cheaper.

The new Ninja 300 is priced at Rs 2.98 lakh, which is around Rs 62,000 cheaper than the outgoing version which was retailed for Rs 3.6 lakh (ex-showroom).

A price cut is not only the addition that makes the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 300. The previous version was heavily criticised for lack of ABS (Anti-lock Brake System).

It needs to be noted that the previous Ninja 300 without ABS sold at a time when some of the sub Rs 1 lakh motorcycles of other bike maker had the safety feature as standard. The new Ninja 300 addressed the issue and comes with dual channel ABS as standard fitment at both ends.

To add freshness to the looks, Kawasaki has updated the colour range. 2018 Ninja 300 is offered in two colour options- lime green/ebony and candy plasma blue. Kawasaki also informed that the customers doing pre-booking will be given three years of warranty offer.

This offer will be discontinued without any prior intimation in order to give a worthy benefit to early birds.

The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 300 draws power from liquid-cooled, four-stroke 296cc parallel twin engine that develops 38.4bhp at 11,000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 10,000 mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Kawasaki employed Ninja 300 with 37mm hydraulic telescopic fork at front and 5-way adjustable preload mono suspension at the rear. The brakes for front wheel come from 290mm petal-type single disc with a 2-piston hydraulic calliper at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. As part of the localisation, Thai-made IRC tyres have been replaced with MRF Zappers.

At the new price, Kawasaki Ninja 300 will pose challenges to KTM RC 390 which is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh. The new Ninja 300 price also undercuts Yamaha YZF-R3 which is retailed at Rs 3.48 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

The price cut of Ninja 300 will also help Kawasaki to clearly position the newly launched Ninja 400 priced at Rs 4.69 lakh.
