Though Redmi Note is a bit late to arrive in India, it is still popular among tech-savvy youth as the upcoming Xiaomi phablet is power-packed with high-end features and yet its price is very low compared to other rivals in the market.

To provide some perspective on the new Xiaomi Redmi Note we have listed key aspects, which users can use to decide whether the Xiaomi phablet is worth the money.

Five Key Salient Features of Xiaomi Redmi Note:

Snapdragon 400/MediaTek Tru Octa-core CPU:

With the sub-₹10,000 price-tag , Redmi Note 4G model comes with Snapdragon 400 series quad-core CPU and is aptly backed by 2GB RAM. There is no other 4G-based phablet in the market, which can boast these specifications albeit Xolo LT900, a smaller 4.3-inch smartphone, which is priced around ₹11,000 bucks at online stores.

For ₹1000 bucks less, people can also buy 3G model, which runs on the 1.7GHz MediaTek's (MTK MT6592) Tru Octa-core processor, wherein all eight cores can work in unison to perform multiple operations smoothly and still be able to have a long battery life. It comes coupled with Mali-450MP4 graphics engine and sumptuous 2GB RAM, which is enough to run power-hungry games on the phablet with less lag.

Android OS with MIUI:

The Xiaomi flagship phablet Redmi Note ships with the outdated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and yet it does not attract a lot of complaints, thanks to its intuitive and visually appealing custom interface MIUI. It gives a feel of operating the device under a hybrid OS version of Apple iOS and Google Android and like a cherry on top, Xiaomi offers some cool custom apps and this has been the true driver of MIUI's popularity among tech aficionados.

Regular OS updates:

Though Redmi Note runs on the old Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS version out-of-the-box, it is believed to get the latest Lollipop update soon. The company released Android 5.0 update to its Mi-2 series smartphone just days after the Google's official announcement, much ahead of Nexus devices. Even the former flagship model Mi3 is also slated to get the new update soon. So, one can expect the Chinese firm to show same concern to the flagship phablet Redmi Note as well.

Recently the company found itself under fire from media over the user data safety issue, it released an update making MIUI Cloud message storage optional.

Camera:

Xiaomi Redmi Note boasts of 13mp camera with LED flash, 28 mm lens F/2.2 aperture and value added features such as Zero shutter lag, face recognition, high dynamic range (HDR), real-time filters for enhanced photography experience.

And on the front, it houses a decent 5mp camera, which is likely to impress selfie-aficionados.
