New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Reacting on BJP’s poll campaigning expenses amounting to Rs. 400 crore, political parties condemned the same and said that the public will decide on the party’s fortune. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that it is still doubtful that the expenses were just Rs. 400 crore, in the backdrop of choppers used and huge stages made for Narendra Modi. CPI leader D Raja said that the party needs to answer on the same. On May 25, 2011, Maoist rebels destroyed a government-run school by dynamite explosion in Tillaya Khurd village of Gaya district. Since then more than 200 students have been facing a lot of problems and are forced to attend their classes under the open sky, even during the monsoon and winter season. This comes a day after Supreme Court of India commuted death sentences of three accused in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination to life term because of an 11-year delay in deciding on their petitions for mercy. The Supreme Court had granted powers to the Tamil Nadu government to exercise its remission powers under the sections 432 and 433 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc). Centre forms committee to look into the welfare of northeast people

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered a CBI probe into the murder of Nido Taniam, a college student from Arunachal Pradesh who died last month after allegedly beaten up by shopkeepers in the capital. The order came following a meeting between the victims’ parents and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Following widespread outrage over the incident, the centre has recently announced the formation of a six-member committee to look into the concerns of northeastern people residing across the country.The committee, led by former IAS officer M P Bezbaruah will examine the cause for violence and discrimination against people from the Northeast and suggest measures to be taken by the government to address these concerns.
