India, Japan to enhance strategic partnership for growth and development

Gurgaon, Nov 12 (ANI): Union Foreign Minister, Salman Khurshid met his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting), as they came together to enhance bilateral ties and improve strategic partnership for growth and development. This is for the first time India is hosting an ASEM Foreign Ministers meeting, which was inaugurated by Vice-President Hamid Ansari on the outskirts of New Delhi in Gurgaon. Khurshid will chair the meeting and the theme of this year is 'ASEM- Bridge to partnership for growth and development.' The dialogue forum between representatives of Asian and European countries is expected to discuss a wide rage of issues between Asia and Europe and reinvigorate the platform to achieve tangible results in various fields. UP govt employees begin indefinite strike, SP appeals for talks

Lucknow, Nov 12 (ANI): UP government employees began an indefinite strike in the state on Tuesday after talks with the government on parity with central government employees turned futile. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal appealed the employees to have a talk with the government in order to resolve the issue. The strike is allegedly called by the Rajya Karmchari Sanyukt Parishad. Bangladesh advocate rules out possibility of enmity between feuding parties

Mesbahuddin ruled out any possibility of enmity between feuding parties, as tensions mount ahead of the general elections in Bangladesh. Recently, Bangladesh's main opposition party, the BNP, refused a request from the prime minister to form an all-party government to oversee upcoming elections, setting the stage for a showdown this week that could delay or even derail the polls altogether. Awami League goes ahead with polls nomination forms despite strike by opposition in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Nov 12 (ANI): The ruling Awami League (AL) party in Bangladesh has started selling nomination forms to its candidates for contesting the upcoming national polls, even as the main opposition BNP had called for 84-hour strike to press their demand of holding the elections under a non-partisan caretaker government. The BNP had announced the strike on Saturday after police arrested its leaders, triggering violent protests across the country.
