Bangladesh celebrates its 42nd Independence Day

Dhaka/Kolkata, Dec 17 (ANI): Bangladesh celebrated its 42nd independence day, after liberation war of 1971 with Pakistan. Thousands of Bangladeshis gathered at Dhaka’s a national memorial Suhrawardy Udyan, to celebrate the victory day organised by the Freedom fighters and members of the Gonojagoron Mancha or activists of People's Resurgence Platform. Former Advisor of the caretaker government, Sultana Kamal expressed her elation saying that the most important achievement for the people was that they breathe in a free country. India also commemorated the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the Bangladesh liberation war of 1971 and pledged to protect every inch of Indian land and territory. Dec 17, 2013

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): After India's deputy consul general in New York Devyani Khobragade was strip-searched and was kept in a cell with drug addicts following her arrest for alleged visa fraud in New York, Defence Expert Capt (Retd) Bharat Verma said that such mis-handling can ruin Indo-US relations. He said that such an action is not tolerable and that PM and the government of India should infringe and give a statement on the same. Anna appreciates Rahuls fight against corruption, Congress expresses gratitude

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): After Anna Hazare wrote a letter to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi thanking him for his commitment to get the Lokpal Bill passed, Congress leader Ajay Maken expresses gratitude for the same on behalf of the party. He said that Gandhi has been firm against corruption and the congress party had p[assed many bills against corruption. Maken also said that Gandhi replied back to Hazare saying the government was committed to the Bill and promised that that the bill will be passed. Match-fixing between Anna and Congress on Lokpal Bill: SP

New Delhi, Dec 17 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal on Tuesday said that there is a deal between anti graft crusader Anna Hazare and the Congress party on Lokpal bill. Agarwal was reacting over the letter written to anti graft crusader Anna Hazare by Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi promising that the party is committed to give the nation a strong Lokpal.
