Congress leader's son shot dead in Amethi

Amethi, June 15 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress leader Jang Bahadur Singh's son, Mahendra Pratap Singh was shot dead by unidentified men in Amethi giving the Congress constituency a jolt. Superintendent of Police (SP) Hira Lal said that the assailants in a Bolero fired on the windscreen and on the side of the Qualis car while it was travelling on the stretch between Raniganj road and Waris road. Italian fans rejoiced over victory over England by 2-1

PM Narendra Modi reaches Bhutan, receives Guard of Honour

Nearly 150 kg of explosives recovered from abandoned car in Varanasi

Varanasi, June 15 (ANI): Police in Holy city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh recovered 150 kilograms of ammonium nitrate from a car, while conducting routine frisking of vehicles. After recovering the explosive, police seized the car in which the explosive material was being transported. The two men carrying the explosive in the vehicle fled on seeing the police at a checkpost. No one has been arrested so far. A police probe is underway and further details are awaited. Jun 15, 2014

Police bust Maoist hideout in 'red corridor', kills one

Gadchiroli, June 15 (ANI): Acting on a tip off, the police in the 'red corridor' of Maharashtra busted a Maoist hideout in the jungles of Gadchiroli district, where after a fierce gunbattle between both sides one rebel was killed and number of explosives were recovered. The Superintendent of Police (Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force-CRPF), Gadchiroli, M Raj Kumar said that one dead body of a suspected Maoist was recovered after they barged in while the others escaped.
