Gas pricing: Congress says court will look into matter pertaining to validation of probe against Rel

Bangalore/ New Delhi, Aug 10 (ANI): The anti-graft wing of the Delhi government has filed an affidavit in the high court saying it has jurisdiction to lodge a report against Reliance Industries and former petroleum minister M Veerappa Moily, in the gas pricing issue. Moily said that the matter is in the court and it would be taken care of by the court. Congress and NCP also said that the High Court will have final say in the matter. Meanwhile, AAP accused the former UPA government and said that the agency was right in filing affidavit in the case. Floods in Odisha kill 37, water level of flooded river recedes

Bargarh, Aug 10 (ANI): Official in Odisha said that water level of flooded Mahanadi river has receded even though the death toll reached 37. However, the flood situation in Bargarh district remained grim as the back water of Hirakud dam entered five villages. The district administration has evacuated 1300 people from these villages. Meanwhile, Special Relief Commissioner, Pradipta Mahapatra, said there will be very little rainfall in catchment area of Mahanadi river and they have reduced the number of gates to 24 in the reservoir. People have died in Odisha since rivers burst their banks, inundating villages and farmland and forcing around 60,000 people to seek refuge in relief camps. Mahapatra also added 37 people have died due to floods and free kitchen service is being provided to people in the relief camps. Aug 10, 2014

Supporter of PM suffers due to cease of pension by UP government

Varanasi, Aug 10 (ANI): A supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Virbhadra Nishad complained of non-payment of pension to old people in Uttar Pradesh. The government of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh has stopped provision of pension to the old people after BJP won in the state. Virbhadra Nishad, a boatman, was one of the people who proposed Modi's nomination from temple town Varanasi for the general elections. He was also a constant supporter of the nationalist leader during the elections. However, Nishad complained that the state government of Samajwadi Party has ceased to pay due amount of pension despite him suffering from critical health conditions. Fifteen killed in encounter between two Maoist groups in Jharkhand

Palamu, Aug 10 (ANI): Fifteen people were killed in an encounter between two rebel groups in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The outfits were Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) and a group that splintered itself from the party, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC). Members of the Communist Party of India-Maoist were allegedly angry regarding a previous incident where their party members were killed by the TPC and wanted to take revenge regarding the same. The incident took place at Koudia village under Vishrampur police station limits, when the TPC members were resting at a villager, Ramchandra Sav's residence, and the Communist Party of India-Maoist members came and killed them.
