Indo-US joint military exercise underway in foothills of Himalayas

Ranikhet, Sep 29 (ANI): The annual Indo-US joint military exercise 'Yudh Abhyas' focusing on combined training events within three key elements of command post exercise, field training exercise and expert academic exchanges is underway in the foothills of Himalayas in Ranikhet district of Uttarakhand. Focusing on tactical and technical skills in countering insurgency and militancy, Indian and U.S army officials started the joint exercise on Monday. Jayalalithaa loyalist O Panneerselvam sworn-in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Chennai, Sep 29 (ANI): AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's loyalist O Panneerselvam was on Monday sworn in as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Panneerselvam, succeeds J Jayalalithaa who has been sentenced to four years imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case. Panneerselvam's oath taking was administered by Governor K Rosaiah after which his cabinet colleagues were sworn in. Panneerselvam and his cabinet ministers, including Natham R Vishwanathan and R Vaithilingam, were in tears during the oath taking ceremony. Panneerselvam took the oath along with 31 MLAs.
