Camila Cabello will no longer be associated with American girl group Fifth Harmony. In an official statement issued by the remaining band members, Fifth Harmony has wished Cabello the best for her future.

The band -- also featuring Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui -- was formed on the second season of The X Factor USA in July 2012.

The message posted on official Facebook and Twitter handles of the band reads: "After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well."

Addressing their fans, the message further read: "You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you've supported us, you've grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on," thus indicating that the remaining members will continue to make music.

"We are excited for our future, and we can't wait for what the New Year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all our hearts," the message says.

Fifth Harmony has produced two hit albums since Reflection in 2015 and 7/27 this year. The group has also been nominated for People's Choice Awards 2017 for Favourite Group.

While the message informing the fans didn't exactly reveal the reason behind Camila's exit, are there chances that there was a rift between the members of the girl group? Was Camila asked to leave? Why wasn't there an explanation given for the sudden departure? And why wasn't the announcement from Camila's side?

The answers are known only to the band members, and we will have to wait for Camila's side of the story.
