Ragnar to move against his sons in Vikings season 4 episode 11.Facebook/Vikings

Vikings season 4 will return with a time jump in mid-season premiere and it will feature a confrontation between Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons, Björn Ironside and Ivar "The Boneless".

Episode 11 is titled The Outsider and it is scheduled to air on Wednesday, November 30, at 9 pm EST on History Channel. Here is a short description of the sequel: Ragnar arrives home unexpectedly to see what has become of his sons and to handle unfinished business with King Ecbert; Lagertha plans a power play; Bjorn prepares to explore the Mediterranean in a sleek, new boat built for him by Floki.

While fans of the history drama series are eager to know how his sons and the people of Kattegat react to the return of Travis Fimmel's character, spoilers suggest that they will be unhappy to see him back.

If Viking history is to be considered, the head of the Earldom will be jealous to see his sons succeed in life and secretly team up with their enemies to plan some move against them. So it remains to be seen how Alexander Ludwig's character and his younger brother will face the new challenges that have come their way with their father's return.

Meanwhile, creator Michael Hirst revealed that the second part of Viking season 4 will return with a time jump of six years and it will focus on the dark side of Ivar. "Ivar is the dark side of the Vikings in a way, but because you never know what he's going to do, he's very unpredictable and he's very dangerous," Variety quoted him as saying.

Since rumour mills are also overriding over the death of Ragnar, it will be interesting to watch his fall and the rise of his son when the show returns with the second part of season 4.
