After an action-packed mid-season finale of "Vikings" season 4, creator Michael Hirst and his team will be back on History Channel with a new set of challenges for King Ragnar Lothbrok, his ex-wife Lagertha, and his sons, Ivar the Boneless and Bjorn, on Nov. 30.

While announcing the return of its most popular drama series, History channel informed viewers about show being rescheduled from the usual Thursday night slot to Wednesday nights.

Meanwhile, Hirst teased that the fourth season is "monumental" and that it will continue its journey with King Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons.

"This season is monumental and unlike anything we've ever done. We've propelled 'Vikings' to the topmost level of historical drama as we follow storylines inspired by real life events such as Bjorn Ironside sailing through the Mediterranean and Ivar the Boneless becoming the most feared warrior of all time. It's not a story of one man, but a saga of Ragnar and his sons," the 63-year-old producer said.

Check out the official synopsis of "Vikings" season 4 part 2 below:

In the midseason premiere, Ragnar's reappearance in Kattegat triggers a chain of events no one – except the Seer – could have ever imagined. He unexpectedly arrives home to see what has become of his sons and to handle unfinished business in Wessex with King Ecbert (Linus Roache). Meanwhile, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) plans a power play in Kattegat and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) prepares to fulfill his long-held dream to explore the Mediterranean in a sleek new boat built for him by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård).

So the followers of the drama series can expect a showdown between the two powerful kings of the era and it will be interesting to watch whether the warrior or the Machiavellian thinker will succeed in the battle.

Meanwhile, Ragnar-Lagertha fans can also wait for a reunion of their popular onscreen power couple as Hirst previously teased that the two could meet at least for a short span of time. "When it comes to those two, I feel like a fan. There is nothing I would like better than those two to get back together again," The Hollywood Reporter quoted him as saying.

The creator even spoke about the reappearance of actor Clive Standen as Rollo in the drama series and revealed that his return will have a specific storyline. However, it remains to be seen if it has to do anything with Ivar the Boneless.
