Opposition protests outside Parliament over black money

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal staged a protest against the government outside the Parliament on Monday over the black money issue. Meanwhile, the TMC also staged a separate protest against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the Parliament. Earlier today, the Janata Parivar staged a protest against the government at Jantar Mantar over issues of Black money, unemployment, farmer issues and communal tensions in the country.

Politicos react as Janata Parivar stages protest against Modi Government at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday as Janata Parivar staged a protest against the government at Jantar Mantar, over issues of Black money, unemployment, farmer issues and communal tensions in the country. Minister of State Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that no one would raise an objection if the ministers would stage a peaceful protest over the issues. However, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Janata Parivar is not a Parivar or union and that they will dilute after next Lok Sabha elections. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal said that Janata Dal is protesting to remind PM Modi about the promises he made before elections. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi also expresses similar sentiments.

Politicos react as fate of Insurance bill hangs in the balance

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Monday the fate of Insurance bill remained hanged in the Parliament. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal said that it is needed that the government solves the problems being faced by the people of India. CPI leader D Raja said that their party will oppose the bill whenever introduced. JD (U) leader KC Tyagi said that the bill won't pass until Rajya Sabha won't function.

Security personnel kill two militants in Assam

Chirang, Dec 22 (ANI): Security forces killed two militants and rescued a kidnapped businessman in Assam. Two militants of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were killed in gun battle in Assam's Chirang district along Bhutan border.Security forces rescued an abducted trader from the militants. Following a tip-off, a joint team of army and police launched the operation at Chirang reserve forest area. The rescued trader was identified as Sushil Deb. Security forces recovered one M-16 rifle, one AK series rifle, one Insas rifle, two pistols, 552 rounds of live ammunition from the slain militants. Police said that a combing operation was launched by the specially trained commandos of army, paramilitary forces and Assam police against the NDFB militants in the bordering areas of Bhutan.

PDP confident of clear majority in JandK

Srinagar, Dec 22 (ANI): Expressing confidence about winning the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections by a clear majority, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday asserted that the party won't require any alliance to form the government in the state. PDP leader Naeem Akhtar said in Srinagar that exit polls were credible in showing the trends but they don't have exact numbers. Counting of votes for the five-phased assembly elections in the states of Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand will begin on Tuesday.

Congress workers protests against Ramdev over black money

Haridwar, Dec 22 (ANI): Thousand of workers of youth wing of Congress party held a demonstration against yoga guru Ramdev in Haridwar city. Irate workers broke police barricades and tried to proceed towards Ramdev's hermitage. Police used water canons and resorted to mild force to disperse the protesters. The workers alleged that Ramdev, in his campaign during general elections, had promised that if Narendra Modi came to power, he would bring back black money within 100 days, but nothing happened even after 200 days of Modi's rule. Congress has been accusing Prime Minister Modi-led government for not keeping its promise of bringing back the black money.

Tourists enjoy snowfall in Kashmir

Gulmarg/Amritsar, Dec 22 (ANI): Tourists enjoyed sleigh rides in Gulmarg area of Jammu and Kashmir as it received snowfall. Tourists threw snowballs at each other and were delighted to see snowfall. The fresh spell of snowfall came as a boon for tourist guides and operators as they hope it will increase tourist inflow in the state. Meanwhile, snowfall in upper regions of Kashmir impacted several northern parts of the country as temperatures plummeted in various regions, forcing residents to stay indoors.

Pune needs green zones, says Prakash Javadekar

Pune, Dec 22 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that Pune, which is reeling under pollution, needed forest lands. After holding a detailed discussion of creating green zones in the city, the minister said there was a need to make the city environment-friendly. He added that initiatives to start metro railway services in Pune will also be hastened besides constructing a 2500-metre cargo terminal at Pune airport.

Kejriwal promises not to resign as Delhi chief minister, if elected again

New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal said he would not resign as chief minister of Delhi, if elected to power, as he had done earlier this year. Hitting out at ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kejriwal said that the party failed to fulfill the promises it made during parliamentary polls in April-May. The elections are likely to be held early next year as no party is in position to form the government.
