New Delhi, Jan 17 (ANI): Outgoing Central Board of Film Certfication (CBFC) member Ira Bhaskar on Saturday said the resignation of all members was in support of Leela Samson, the former chairperson of the statutory board. She also said that a joint letter of resignation in which nine people have signed was submitted. Bhaskar, a professor of cinema studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University also cleared that the reason for resignation was not the movie Messenger of God (MSG). Bhaskar also said that the Board continued working on extension even after its term was over. Bhaskar resigned on Friday after Leela Samson stepped down as the board's chairperson. A fresh opinion poll has predicted a hung assembly in Delhi with BJP finishing with 34 seats and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stuck at 28 seats, the same as last time. Congress leader PC Chacko said that the mood of people of Delhi is different and that they have been seeing the condition of the national capital since past few months. New Delhi/ Jaipur, Jan 17 (ANI): Reactions come in as Pune McDonalds restaurant threw out a street kid who was willing to buy a Fanta float. Child rights activist and Congress leader called it inappropriate and against the very fabric of Indian Constitution. Although, following the shameful act, McDonalds India said that appropriate action would be taken in case of any act of breach. The McDonalds India issued a statement wherein it said, “We shall be examining if our employees have in any manner breached basic courtesy and respect and take appropriate action. We wish to affirm that we treasure and respect everyone in equal measure and do not support any form of discrimination. Police arrest Islamic State sympathiser in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 17 (ANI): Police in Hyderabad arrested an Islamic State (IS) sympathiser when he was about to board a flight to Dubai. The police detained 22-year-old engineer Salman Moinuddin at the airport. After interrogation, police said Moinuddin confessed that he was going to join the IS along with his British-national girlfriend Nicky Joseph. They had planned to meet in Dubai and then travel to Syria through Turkey. Sudarshan added an investigation is underway in the matter. However, Moinuddin’s father evaded questions from media. NC MLA Abdul Majid Larmi attacked by suspected militants

Rajasthan on alert after spurt in swine flu cases

Jaipur, Jan 17 (ANI): Authorities in Rajasthan have been on alert after a spurt in swine flu cases. So far, seven people have died due to swine flu in the state this year. The administration has set up special counters in premier hospitals and deputed special teams of doctors to monitor the situation. Health officials said the virus had weakened in the past two-three years, but its re-emergence was a cause for alarm. The premier Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur has examined 44 samples of swine flu and admitted seven of them since January 01, 2015. Swine flu is caused by the H1N1 virus. H1N1 symptoms are similar to those produced by other influenza viruses - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and respiratory problems. Jan 17, 2015
