'Immigrant' row: Asom Gana Parishad protests against BJP

Guwahati, Feb 05 (ANI): The Asom Gana Parishad staged a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday for referring to people hailing from the north-east as 'immigrants' in its vision document for the Delhi Assembly polls. The agitation by the Asom Gana Parishad is the latest in a series of protests against the BJP in the north-eastern parts of the country. The opposition parties, too, had criticised the BJP's 'error' and demanded an apology for the same. The BJP, however, had expressed regret for the 'typing error' in its vision document, saying the party firmly believed that people of the north-east are proud citizens of India.

Campaigning fever on its highest as Delhi witnesses series of roadshows by political parties

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): As campaigning for the Delhi assembly polls enter its last leg, party dignitaries held roadshows in the national capital in order to woo voters on Thursday. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal held roadshow along with his supporters as he waved the crowd from his convoy. AAP supporters were seen dancing on the trending AAP track 'paanch saal Kejriwal' as they hoped for the party's victory in the assembly polls. Kejriwal thereafter, reached Lodhi Garden with his supporters and also interacted with the residents. Meanwhile, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, in an open pick-up truck, led a huge roadshow for his party, in a constituency it has held in north-west Delhi for over 20 years, Sultanpur Majra. Gandhi, was received by a large crowd waving Congress flags in the resettlement colony which has elected the party's Jaikishan to the Delhi legislature for three consecutive terms.

Bedi on roadshow spree as high octane campaigning for Delhi polls enters last leg

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): In a final push to woo voters on the last day of campaigning for the Delhi Assembly polls on Thursday, Bhartiya Janta Party's Delhi Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi is on a spree of roadshows. Bedi is scheduled to hold roadshows in Mangolpuri and will cover adjoining constituencies of Sultanpuri, Kirari, Nangloi and Mundka. She will be holding her last campaign in Krishna Nagar constituency through the afternoon till campaigning for the elections ends at 6 pm. Meanwhile, during her roadshow at Kirari constituency she came face to face with AAP supporters. As the campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections ends this evening, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are making all out efforts to convince people to vote for their candidates by making promises.

AVAM moves EC against AAP over 'funding scam'

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): AAP Volunteers Action Manch (AVAM) on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India against the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following allegations of a 'funding scam'. AVAM member informed that the it would also move to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in the coming days. AVAM alleged that AAP had last year received Rs. 50 lakhs through four bogus companies that were fronts for money-laundering.

BJP says 'AAP making allegations in nervousness' after EC dismisses Kejriwal's apprehensions on EVM

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): BJP on Thursday react and said that 'AAP is making allegations in nervousness' of getting defeated in Delhi Assembly polls after Election Commission dismissed Arvind Kejriwal's apprehensions on EVM tampering. The poll panel on Wednesday night rejected Kejriwal's claim that electronic voting machines (EVMs) can be tampered to favour BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls. The EC said such allegations are "totally incorrect and unacceptable". Kejriwal had claimed on Tuesday that discrepancies were found during a check of four such machines at Delhi Cantonment area. He had alleged that pressing of any button on the machines, the light against the BJP symbol lit up.

Reactions come in over clash between AAP and BJP workers in Sangam Vihar
