BNP strike takes toll on cross-border India- Bangladesh trade

South Dinajpur/ Dhaka, Oct 30 (ANI): The ongoing strike in Bangladesh called by the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) took a toll on the cross-border trade with India, which left hundreds of trucks stranded at the transit point in West Bengal. BNP began a three-day strike in the country on Sunday demanding a caretaker government during the upcoming national elections in 2014. At least 40 killed in bus fire at Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway

Mehboobnagar, Oct 30 (ANI): At least 40 people are feared dead when a private Volvo bus traveling from Bangalore to Hyderabad catches fire after it hit an oil tanker on Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway fire early Wednesday morning. Most of the passengers on the air-conditioned luxury bus were asleep when the driver hit the oil tanker trying to overtake another vehicle. The tank burst, causing the fire. Some passengers an driver and cleaner of the bus managed to break the glass windows of the bus and escape before the fire engulfed it completely. Imphal, Oct 30 (ANI): At least two people were killed and seven others injured when a powerful bomb was detonated near Manipur Chief Minister's Okram Ibobi Singh residence on Wednesday in Imphal. The injured people were rushed to the hospital and their condition is said to be serious. The bomb was placed under a cart in an area where migrant daily wage earners line up their carts.
