SC orders Sahara Group to hand over Rs.20, 000 crores worth of property title deeds

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): The Sahara Group has been ordered by the Supreme Court to hand over title deeds of properties worth Rs.20,000 crore to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) after hearing three contempt of court petitions filed by SEBI against the group's owner Subrata Roy. An apex court bench headed by Justices K. S. Radhakrishnan and J. S. Khehar warned Roy that he would not be permitted to go abroad till the title deeds of the properties are handed over. The court has given Roy three weeks to comply with its latest order. The case against Roy relates to him failing to deposit money belonging to Sahara investors' with the SEBI. The contempt petitions filed by SEBI are related to Sahara firms-Sahara India Real Estate Corp Ltd (SIREC) and Sahara India Housing Investment Corp Ltd (SHIC) - and their directors.

Babulal Nagar sent to judicial custody till 12th Nov

Jaipur, Oct 29 (ANI): A Rajastahn court on Tuesday sent former state minister Babulal Nagar to judicial custody till November 12. Nagar was arrested on October 25 on charges of rape. 53 year old Nagar resigned from the state Cabinet two days after the FIR was registered on September 17.Meanwhile, Nagar said that he has full faith on CBI and his innocence will be proved.

Five injured in bomb blast in Imphal

Imphal, Oct 29 (ANI): Five persons were injured when militants exploded a powerful bomb in a market complex in Imphal, on Tuesday. The bomb exploded near Bheirodan School in Khwairamband market complex, about 1km away from the official residence of chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh. According to police, the bomb was an improvised explosive device.

Patna blasts: Shinde cancels Bihar visit

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition parties for attending a Bollywood event hours after multiple blasts killed six people in Patna, has cancelled his visit to Bihar. According to reports, Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami and other senior officials will visit Patna today to assess the situation in the aftermath of Sunday's serial blasts in the city. Shinde had earlier on Monday said that he would be visiting Patna to take stock of the situation there.

Demand for Bangladesh caretaker govt intensifies pre general elections

Dhaka, Oct 29 (ANI): Former Bangladesh Inspector General Mohammad Khuda Baksh hoped for a discussion between the leading political parties over the boiling issue of the demand for a caretaker government, as tensions mounted ahead of the general elections.The clash of ideologies could plunge Bangladesh into a cycle of violence. Baksh, who is also the former international consultant United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan said that the issue of caretaker government could be resolved through dialogue. Baksh also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP President Begum Khaleda Zia represented the views of their parties.
