PM & Congress deceived nation, sends warning for future govt: Kiran Bedi

New Delhi, April 12 (ANI): Reacting on PM’s Former Adviser Sanjaya Baru’s memoir which states that Manmohan Singh had been "defanged" by the Congress in his second term, Former IPS Officer Kiran Bedi said that the party and Singh had deceived the nation for a long 9 years. Bedi also said that this incident sends a warning to the future government to not resort to any such things in future. She further said that the book confirms that Singh never had any power in his store and was acting on the directions of the Congress chief. Bedi also appealed the people not to cast a single vote for such a party.

Chhattisgarh: Naxals strike again, many feared dead in twin attack

Raipur, April 12 (ANI): As many as 13 people including eight civilians are feared dead in twin Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. According to reports, naxals ambushed a bus carrying a team of poll officials in Bijapur. In another attack, Naxals blew up a government ambulance van killing CRPF personnel and the driver.

New Delhi, April 12 (ANI): After a major controversy over Former Adviser to PM Sanjaya Baru’s memoir wherein he stated that Manmohan Singh had been "defanged" by the Congress in his second term, Baru said that the nation has a right to now what happens in the government’s highest bodies. He said that this is a common exercise in foreign countries and that should be practiced more often in India too. He said that every person has a right to know what are the successes and failures of Singh as the prime minister of India. Baru also stated that there is no reason where the motive behind the book can be questioned.

Tripura & Assam polls underway amidst tight security

Tripura/ Assam, April 12 (ANI): Voters in Tripura and Assam stood in long serpentine queues on Saturday to cast their vote as the states go in for the general elections that will determine the fate of over 1.2 billion people. As the day progressed, number of voters outside the polling stations began swelling in Tripura. Hoping for a stable government, a first-time voter, Arvind, lauded high women turnout. It happens: Marathon for Peace & Unity

New Delhi, April 11 (ANI): Hundreds of school children participated in marathon race, 'Run for Unity' in New Delhi to promote peace, brotherhood and unity among people living in the country on Saturday. The marathon touched different places of worship in south Delhi, welcoming harmony among everyone.Teenagers from various parts of the nation participated in the marathon and stopped at religious destinations like temples, mosques, churches and Sikh holy shrines en route to receive tokens with religious symbols embossed on them.Eventually when the runners reached the final checkpoint, they received a set of golden rules with underlying messages of peaceful co-existence.The event was organised by Italy based Focolare Movement at Holy Child Auxilium School in New Delhi. New Delhi/Kanpur/Varanasi, April 11 (ANI): Devout Hindus paid obeisance at temples in northern India as nine-day fasting festival, 'Navratri', marked in honour of goddess Durga, concluded. Devotees thronged temples in New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh state to sought blessings of the goddess on the Hindu festival of 'Ram Navami'.According to the legends, Lord Rama sought blessings of goddess of power, Durga, before waging a war against a demon king Ravana. 'Ram Navami' is also one of the most important festivals of the Vaishnava sect of the Hindus. On this day, temples are decorated and the idols of Lord Rama, his wife, Sita and his brother Lakshman, are richly adorned. Devotees, both young and old, visit the temples and made offerings of sweets, flowers and fruits.The festival falls on the ninth-day of the moonlit fortnight in the months of March-April. Most people consider it an auspicious day and some even observe a strict fast a day earlier. It is believed that Lord Rama was born to eradicate evil from the earth. His saga is depicted in the Ramayana scripture.
