Supreme Court puts nursery admissions in Delhi on hold

New Delhi, April 11 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday put a stay on the Delhi High Court order on going ahead with the admission process without considering the points for inter-state transfers. On April 03, the Delhi HC had allowed schools to begin admitting toddlers who have been selected in draw of lots. The Supreme Court further issued a notice to the Delhi government.

Congress uses AB Vajpayee's statement to divert voters, politicos react

New Delhi/Amritsar, April 11 (ANI): Congress Party stirred a fresh controversy by putting BJP's former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's picture on its official website and using his statement to divert voters against Narendra Modi. Vajpayee's photo was published on Congress website with a caption that read: "Atal had said Modi did not follow Raj Dharma. How can a person whom Atal Bihari Vajpayee had thought unfit to be even a chief minister expected to be given the reigns of the country (PM)." Congress leader Rajiv Shukla said that Vajpayee did not consider Modi even worth being a Chief Minister so how can he be projected as a Prime Minister of the country. BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadoria has although, condemned the way Congress used the statement, yet he said the nation knows that Modi did not do his duty properly, over which Vajpayee was upset. Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi mocked the ruling Congress Party saying that the defeated Congress is diverting people's attention from actual issues

BJP defends Narendra Modi over his marital status, attacks Rahul

New Delhi, April 11 (ANI): BJP leader Nirmala Sitaraman on Friday clarified that the party's PM candidate Narendra Modi has never lied about his marital status in any of his nomination affidavits. Taking a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi who attacked Modi on the matter, Sitaraman said that Gandhi should have read all the affidavits before stating that Modi did not declare his marital status until filing his nomination from Vadodara.

Abu Azmi says girls having sex with or without consent should be punished, Politicos react

New Delhi, April 11 (ANI): Following SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, party leader Abu Azmi said that women having sex with or without consent before marriage should also be punished, which was deeply criticized by the leaders of different political parties. Congress leader Shobha Oza said that such statements are indictive of the midset of the male towards women. Women activists condemn Mulayams remark on rape law

New Delhi/ Lucknow/ Patna, April 11 (ANI): Women activists on Friday condemned SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s remark on rape law wherein he said that it was unfair to award death penalty to rapists for their 'mistakes'. AIWC President Shobha Oza said that it is unfortunate and that rape is a heinous crime and that there should be no leniency towards rapists. AIMWPLB Chairperson Shaista Amber said that the statement is shocking and that Election Commission should take action against such act. Further, Women's Rights Campaigner Kavita Krishnan said that Yadav is trivializing rape and that there should be a model code of conduct on such statements.
