Opposition uniting to form 'unstable, corrupt govt' in Jharkhand: Amit Shah part - 2

Simdega, Nov 26 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday lashed out at the opposition parties in Jharkhand and accused them of forming an unstable and corrupt government in the state. While addressing a rally in Simdega ahead of the second phase of assembly elections he urged the people to vote for the BJP. Shah reminded them that Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the country's Prime Minister. The BJP president also used the occasion to taunt Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, saying the latter instead of pointing fingers towards the ruling party should reveal as to what the UPA did when it was in power at the Centre for ten years. Thanking the people of Jharkhand for supporting the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections, Shah said that his party will give a stable government to the state. Jharkhand witnessed an impressive 62 percent voter turnout in the first phase of assembly elections yesterday. The second phase polling will be held on December 2.

PM Modi meets PM of Bhutan, Bangladesh in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nov 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met the Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Tobgay and Modi held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the ongoing SAARC summit. Modi also met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the sidelines of the ongoing 18th SAARC summit in Nepal. Hasina earlier, while addressing the summit, drew the attention of leaders to fight against the existing abject poverty, food insecurity and drinking water in the region. Prime Minister Modi arrived in Nepal to attend the 18th SAARC summit which involves 8 South-asian nations.

Politicians urge for anti militancy measures on anniversary of Mumbai attacks

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): As India observes the sixth anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, politicians across parties said in unison on Wednesday that cross border militancy must be rebuffed and uprooted. The attacks, which took place in 2008, shook the entire nation. Ten heavily armed gunmen of a Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba went on a rampage for almost three days in Mumbai in 2008.

No India-Pak talks during SAARC summit, Politicos react

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): PM Narendra Modi will not have a bilateral meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Sharif at the SAARC summit in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, political leaders in India on Wednesday said that talks are possible only when Pakistan leaves the path of terrorism. With India seeks to reinvigorate ties with the SAARC nation, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Wednesday put all speculation to rest of a possible India-Pakistan bilateral meeting at the SAARC summit in Kathmandu by confirming that no formal talks between the two nations will be held.

Traders from Afghanistan and Nepal exhibit their products at IITF 2014

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): A large number of traders from Afghanistan and Nepal have displayed their products at the ongoing 34th India International Trade Fair - 2014. Visitors are flocking to the Afghanistan pavilion to get the best quality dry fruits and carpets. Exhibitors from neighbouring Nepal also displayed their products, especially the pashmina shawls. The chairperson of the India Trade and Promotion Organisation, Rita Menon, thinks this year's IITF would be a good experience for SAARC countries, especially Afghanistan and Nepal. This year, over 6,500 companies and 25 foreign countries are taking part in the IITF 2014. The trade fair will conclude on November 27, 2014.

Will build diplomatic pressure on Pak to hand over 26/11 accused to India: Rajnath Singh

Jamshedpur, Nov 26 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that the terrorist attack which took place in Mumbai on 26/11 was a disastrous incident. He said that the attack was clearly a Pak operated one and the previous government had asked Pakistan government to act on a tip off and bring to justice its culprits. Singh also said that Indian government will build a diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to handover the accused of the attack to India.

PM Modi pays homage to 26/11 Mumbai attack victims

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): On the 6th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday saluted the security personnel who laid down their lives protecting others during the terror attacks and also paid tribute to the victims and martyrs. "We remember the horrific terror attacks in Mumbai on this day in 2008 and pay homage to the innocent men and women who lost their lives. We salute the brave security personnel who laid down their lives to protect several lives on that fateful day. They are our true heroes," Prime Minister Modi tweeted. "Today is a day to reaffirm our commitment to work together to combat the menace of terror and uproot it from the face of humankind," he added. Tributes would be paid to victims and martyrs of the terror attack at various locations in Mumbai today.
