Reactions come in as SC asks to disqualify Chennai Super Kings from IPL

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Reactions come in as the Supreme Court on Thursday observed that action should be taken on the Mudgal Committee's probe report on the IPL spot-fixing scam and Chennai Super Kings team should be 'terminated without further enquiry' from the IPL tournament. Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that he will comment on the same after taking a look at the report. Justice (Retd.) Mukul Mudgal, who is heading the Mudgal Committee panel said that Commitee report is under consideration and that he cannot say anything about it now. Meanwhile, Former Cricketer Kirti Azad welcomed the decision and said that this will further clean the Indian Cricket from corruption.

UGC member alleges interference by HRD Ministry, Reactions flow

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Member of University Grants Commission (UGC), MM Ansari alleged excessive interference by the education ministry in the activities of the body. These statements come at a time when Education Ministry decided to drop German language in favour of Sanskrit for over 70,000 students across 500 Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) from classes VI to VIII. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said Ansari was making such statements on behalf of the Congress party. SP leader Naresh Agarwal defended the Education Minister, Smriti Irani and said she was just doing her duty. Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda said these allegations by the UGC member should be looked into seriously. UGC is a statutory organisation that grants recognition to universities in India and handles coordination and maintenance of university education.

Politicos react after CBI report states girls committed suicide in Badaun gang-rape case

New Delhi/Lucknow/Hyderabad, Nov 27 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Thursday after CBI in its report stated that it has found no evidence of murder or sexual assault in its probe into the death of two teenage cousins whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh and claimed that the two girls had committed suicide. BJP's UP unit President Laxmikant Bajpai said that the government should look into the reports. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the court will look into the CBI report and give its verdict. SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary said that Opposition parties had unnecessary and without any evidence slammed the UP government for creating an unsafe environment for women.

Congress and BJP express contradictory views over Omar Abdullah's appreciation on Modi's foreign pol

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Congress and BJP on Thursday expressed contradictory views after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his foreign diplomacy. Abdullah had said that Prime Minister has done well as far as maintaining relations with foreign countries is concerned. He minister went on to say that PM Modi has done a good job in reaching out to country's immediate neighbours. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the JandK chief minister should carefully watch the developments with foreign countries in past six months and he will then come to notice that there are no developments so far. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the whole world is appreciating PM Modi for his works and that Abdullah's appreciation is nothing surprising.

Kejriwal to host dinner to fund AAP, BJP slams

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal will host diamond merchants, Bollywood artists and bankers for a 'Rs. 20,000 per plate' dinner next week in Mumbai, kick-starting AAP's fund-raising campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi. Reacting over this, the BJP on Thursday slammed AAP and said that the party has destroyed its credibility and people have no faith in AAP.

CBI investigated the matter in haste: Mayawati on Badaun gang-rape case

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati on Thursday alleged that CBI has investigated the Badaun gang-rape case in haste and that the CBI report is flawed. She added that BSP is not in agreement with the report. She further said that a thorough probe will be conducted and guilty will be punished after BSP will be voted to power.

He added that SP, which itself did not do so in the past, can only create controversy. BJP leader Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that he saw no reason as to why controversy should be raised over birthday celebrations of a glorious leader.

PM will bolster ties and move ahead with south Asian nations: MEA

Kathmandu, Nov 27 (ANI): MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that India would enhance its bond with South Asian nations and move together with its neighbours in a bid to boost trade while integrating energy grids and easy access via road and railway links. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that India will move with those who are ready. He added that Prime Minister also held talks with his Bangladesh's counterpart Sheikh Hasina on tackling militancy in the region.
