Politicos react after Rajnath Singh says ISI behind terror strikes in India

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Saturday after Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that state actors of Pakistan are playing a role to destabilise India. Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi commenting on Singh's statement said that everyone should stand against terrorism. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the single biggest antidote to ensure that young Indians do not get radicalized is to embrace the inclusive idea of India. However, SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that he agreed with Rajnath Singh's statement.

Bikers loot Rs1.5 crore from cash van outside Citibank ATM in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): Two unidentified men on a bike opened fire at the security guard and took away about Rs.1.5 crore from a cash van in Delhi on Saturday. According to police, the incident took place around 11 am when the cash van came to refill a Citibank ATM in north Delhi's Kamla Nagar market area. The guard has been taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. The entire area has been cordoned off by the police.

Bangalore, Nov 29 (ANI): Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on Saturday said that India has no territorial ambitions except to get back our lost territories. He said that the strategic gravity has shifted from west to the east, to Asia and Asia-Pacific but security remains a big challenge. Further, Raha said that China is growing in power and there are doubts whether its growth will be peaceful or not so India is fully prepared. Raha added that ISIS is a big challenge to the world which needs to be tackled.

Massive fire breaks out at wood factory in New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a wood factory in New Delhi on Saturday morning. The Delhi Fire Department pressed 30 fire tenders in the service, which brought the raging inferno under control. No casualty has been reported so far and cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Fire safety regulations are lax, rarely implemented and not periodically reviewed in most places across India, which results in the breaking of major fire, resulting in loss of life and material.

Swedish woman in search of her real parents in India

Siliguri, Nov 29 (ANI): Rebecca Aditi Sandlert, who was adopted by a Swedish parent, thirty four years back, returned to India in search of her real parents in Siliguri. Born of a Nepali mother and Bengali father on June 28, 1980 Sandlert landed at an orphanage in Kolkata from a nursing home in Siliguri. Her mother gave her up after she was left with no resources to support the child being a single parent as her husband had left her following his family's opposition to the marriage. Few months later, she was adopted by a Swedish family. Sandlert’s Friend, Sidney Norling who is accompanying her to India, hoped to find her roots.

Snowfall in higher reaches of Kashmir affects traffic

Rajouri, Nov 29 (ANI): Snowfall in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir slowed down traffic and hit visibility on the arterial Mughal Road that connects the valley with rest of the country. Snowfall in Pir ki Gali in Rajouri district dropped temperatures as the Meteorological Department, had predicted snowfall in the higher reaches of the state. Residents are worried that the continuous snowfall will block the Mughal road, which will affect businesses and tourist movement. The road brings Poonch and Rajouri district in the state closer to the summer capital, Srinagar in Kashmir valley. Meanwhile, a tourist Mohammed Akram said the administration should take steps to clear roads so that even tourists can enjoy the beauty of the valley.

Rajnath Singh hits out at Pak, asks is ISI a non-state actor

Guwahati, Nov 29 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday while addressing the 49th DGPs/IGs conference in Guwahati raised the issue of ISIS and called it a major security threat. He also hit out at Pakistan, saying the state actors from the country play a role in attempts to destabilize India. Talking tough on militant attack in Arnia, the Home Minister rejects Pakistan claims non-state actors are behind the incident. Rajnath asks if ISI also non-state actor. The home minister also added that the country is united to fight any anti-national activity. Talking about the Burdwan blasts, he said that West Bengal police and NIA are playing crucial role in its probe.

Bihar Home Secretary submits report on Patna stampede to govt

Patna, Nov 29 (ANI): The Home Secretary of Bihar, Amir Subhani, said on Saturday that the report on Patna stampede has been submitted to the government. He said that investigation was carried out on the basis of documents, CCTV footage and statements of the witnesses. He also mentioned that there was lack of arrangements, adding that action be taken against officials responsible.

Take extra care of Jharkhand between 13-18 years, choose good govt: PM Modi

Jamshedpur, Nov 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a rally in Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand. Modi said that when a child is between the age of 13-18, he needs extra care and development. Relating the child's example to the state Modi said that Jharkhand also needs extra care during these crucial years so it should be in the hands of a good government. Further, Modi said that Jamshedpur is rich in coal but it is backward because coal policies were such that people looted coal and deprived Jharkhand of proper development. He said that the BJP government has reviewed the coal policies such that now nobody can loot coal. He further appealed the people to vote for BJP and give a full majority government in the state.
