Sofia Hayat's estranged Romanian husband Vlad Stanescu was arrested in London a month after the former Bigg Boss 7 contestant had filed a police complaint accusing him of duping her.
Confirming the news to Spotboye, Sofia said, "Vlad has been arrested, the police caught hold of him a few hours back. I don't know what's happening now, but they have informed me that he cannot go back to Romania (his hometown), or get employment there as he owes the Romanian government money. He's been arrested in Romania before for violence, and he's been convicted for that."
Sofia Hayat had announced her separation with Vlad Stanescu in an Instagram post after she accused him of stealing, lying, and fraud. Sofia also said that she had thrown him out of her apartment. Post her separation, she deleted all their wedding photos on Instagram.
After Vlad's arrest in London, Sofia said, "Karma is more than a bitch" in an Instagram post.
While announcing the separation, Sofia said: "You said you were an interior designer who designed palaces...YOU LIED...infact..you were in debt..You said you loved me..YOU LIED" and added, "The devil came to me disguised with the face of an angel..and tried to rape me of all that I am."
She had also shared a private WhatsApp conversation with Vlad's former girlfriend, who also accused him of duping her.
Vlad's ex-girlfriend had told Sofia that he stole stuff from her apartment, including a tablet when they were together around two years ago.
Sofia and Vlad had married on April 24 last year in London.
