KC Tyagi on recovery of 27 live bombs in Ranchi

New Delhi, Nov 5 (ANI): JD (U) leader KC Tyagi on Tuesday said that the BJP's 'Asthi-Kalash Yatra' to be taken out from the villages of six victims of the serial blasts during Hoonkar Rally at Gandhi Maidan on October 27, is instead a political yatra. Commenting about the 27 live bombs found in a room of a privately-run small hotel in Ranchi, ahead of the Yatra, Tyagi said that the government is careful about security in the state.

BSP MP'S wife detained for murder charge, MP says was not present on the spot

New Delhi, Nov 5 (ANI): A maid servant was found dead under mysterious circumstances at BSP MP Dhananjay Singh's South Avenue residence on Tuesday. Reports have quoted Delhi Police investigating officers as saying that the death could be due to torture. The lawmaker's wife Jagriti Singh is being questioned. The deceased was found with bruises on her head, stomach and all over her body. Post-mortem report is awaited to ascertain the cause of her death. The woman had been working at the residence of the BSP MP for the last 10 months. Dhananjay Singh is the sitting Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur.

Historic day for India: Scientist CB Devgan on ISRO Mars Mission

New Delhi, Nov 05 (ANI): India is all set for its maiden Mars mission with its satellite, Mangalyaan, scheduled for a lift-off today from the balmy space port of Sriharikota in coastal Andhra Pradesh. With the weather forecast clear and no space debris expected to come in the way of the satellite, the lift-off is likely to take place on time at 2:38 pm. Talking over this, Scientist CB Devgan said in New Delhi that it is a historic day for India.

India's maiden Mars mission 'Mangalyaan' to be launched today

Sriharikota, Nov 05 (ANI): India is all set for its maiden Mars mission with its satellite, Mangalyaan, scheduled for a lift-off on Tuesday, at 2:38pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The countdown for the launch started on Sunday and is progressing normally. In about 56 and a half hour countdown, scientists were busy assembling the satellite and its launch vehicle together. With the weather forecast clear and no space debris expected to come in the way of the satellite the lift-off is likely to take place on time.

Live bombs recovered in Ranchi defused

Ranchi, Nov 05 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with Jharkhand Police recovered nine live bombs during a raid in the Hindpiri area of Ranchi. However, the Bomb Disposal Squad experts defused all the bombs recovered. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Saket Kumar Singh confirmed that nine live bombs have been recovered, and they had detonators attached to them.

Threat to development: Maoists blow up under-construction school in Latehar

Latehar, Nov 5 (ANI): Maoists resorting to violence and arson is not new. Their rampant attempts to hinder development work in recent times showcases beyond doubt the fear they have in their minds to cease progress in society. Further it seems they fear education to greater extent, more so because an educated individual is an informed individual, something the left wing extremists find hard to digest. Recently, Maoists blew up a portion of an under-construction school in Latehar district of Jharkhand, as the rebels tried to instill fear among the poor villagers. The rebels had threatened the contractors not to start with the construction of the school. However, the authorities took the threats lightly and began the construction work.
