Indian sailor Captain Sunil James released from Togo jail: MEA

Mumbai/ New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): Captain Sunil James along with another sailor Vijayan, who was arrested in Togo on July 31 for allegedly aiding pirates, has been released on Thursday, said the ministry of external affairs. The External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that India is preparing for the sailor’s return. James’ wife Aditi and other relatives met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh earlier this month to urge him to intervene so that James could be allowed to come home for the last rites of his 11-month old son Vivaan, who died on December 2.
