Dhaka, Jan 12 (ANI): Hindus in Bangladesh protested against main opposition, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami over attacks on minority community across the nation. The minority community was facing attacks by members of BNP and the Islamist party in different districts of the country including Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh and Jessore during pre and post national polls violence.

Toll booth vandalized in Kolhapur, politicos condemn

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Jan 12 (ANI): After activists in Kolhapur vandalized and burned down nine toll booths over toll tariffs, politicos condemned the act. Congress leader Meem Afzal said that the act is condemnable and that there can be political side of the same too. Meanwhile, BJP leader Shaina NC said that its clear that toll tariff is a trouble for people but taking law in one’s hands is condemnable.

Hundreds run for women safety in Bhopal

Bhopal, Jan 12 (ANI): Hundreds of people in Bhopal took part in a marathon to spread awareness on women safety. The run was organised by a voluntary women organisation. Volunteers said that they aimed at motivating women, who are often caged within the confines of their houses, to raise their voices against the violence inflicted upon them, even by their close relatives. The organisers said that their intention was to instil an unflinching determination in the women living in Bhopal by setting an exemplary show of their activities.

Kolhapur toll booths vandalized, Shiv Sena calls for bandh

Kolhapur, Jan 12 (ANI): Nine toll booths in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra were ransacked on Sunday by a group of activists after a dispute over collection of toll tariff. The roads and nearby highways have also been severely vandalized, following which the protesters were detained, police confirmed. About dozen members of anti-toll action committee had launched a hunger strike six days ago, saying that they would not call it off unless the toll collection stopped. Maharashtra Minister of State for Home affairs Satej Patil and Labour Minister Hasan Mushrif had reportedly met the activists on Saturday and assured them that Government would ask the company to stop the toll collection.
