Jorhat, March 27 (ANI): In a bid to ensure free and fair general elections, the police stepped up security arrangements in Assam to foil any attempt to disrupt the democratic process. Security personnel were seen manning the streets and checking vehicles in Jorhat. The State government also sought cooperation from neighbouring states for security arrangements. The Lok Sabha Polls will be held in nine stages, which will commence on April 07, which is also raising day of separatist group, United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA).
