Tom Cruise has been very private about his personal life ever since he called it quits with Katie Holmes in 2012. But on Monday, he did open up about his only biological daughter Suri when asked whether she would be interested in becoming an actress.

"You never know, you never know," Tom told the Sydney Morning Herald about his 11-year-old daughter, and added that he was bitten by the acting bug from a young age. "For me, I just love making movies. I have been doing it my whole life... it's just what I do."

Holmes has primary physical custody of Suri, but Tom has been making an effort to spend time with her after media lashed him for being an absentee father.

On June 2016, In Touch Weekly reported that the Mission Impossible actor hadn't seen Suri for about 1000 days and that he had been using busy filming schedule as an excuse to avoid meeting his daughter.

"They used to Skype and text, but that trailed off drastically," a source told In Touch Weekly, adding that Tom's belief in Scientology was to be blamed.

"Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology," the source said. "He's disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn't seen her since she was seven."

However, the father-daughter duo has been spending more time together in recent times. For his birthday last year, Tom had Suri flown to England where they spent five days together.
It has been a while since Suri has been photographed with her father.

The Top Gun actor has two adopted children, Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
