Let's take a deep dive to know more about the Mahindra Alturas G4.
Mahindra Alturas G4 – Not an all-new SUV
The Alturas G4 is not an all-new SUV developed by Mahindra. It is the badge-engineered version of the G4 Rexton SUV sold under Mahindra's South Korean subsidiary SsangYong. The silhouette of SsangYong G4 Rexton is intact while the badge engineering exercise has added a toothy grille in the Alturas G4. Mahindra has also reportedly worked on the suspension, ride height and handling package of the Alturas G4 to make it better suited for Indian road conditions.
Mahindra Alturas G4 – Engine and transmission
Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to plonk a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine, capable of producing 180hp and 450Nm of peak torque in the SUV. The engine likely to get coupled with a seven-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a manual may not be offered.
Mahindra Alturas G4 – variants and features
Multiple reports claim the Alturas G4 will be offered in two variants--base G2 trim with a 2WD layout and a fully-loaded 4WD model- G4. The company has confirmed its new SUV will be equipped with high tech and safety features including 8-way powered driver seat with memory profiles, dual zone FATC, 9 airbags, 3D 360-degree view-around camera, ventilated seats and active roll-over protection.
Mahindra Alturas G4 – Colours
The Alturas G4 will be offered in five colour options - New Pearl White, Napoli Black, Lakeside Brown, Dsat Silver and Regal Blue.
Mahindra will also introduce a new premium loyalty program, called Purple Club+ with the Alturas G4 launch. The Purple Club+ program will be a first-in-category loyalty program that would enable customers to earn and redeem points based on their engagements with the brand.
