Karthi's "Komban" and Udhayanidhi Stalin's "Nanbenda" aka "Nannbenda" have good openings at the Tamil Nadu box office. While the former was released on 1 April, the latter has hit the screens on 2 April.

"Komban" was released in 300 screens on Thursday after facing a last-minute issue over the release. This forced the makers to advance the release date by a day. But it could only have its opening shows on the evening of Thursday. Nonetheless, the shows ran into packed houses in most of the places in Chennai and some other regions.

Whereas Udhayanidhi Stalin's "Nanbenda" has been released in 350 screens in Tamil Nadu. The early trade reports indicate that it has enjoyed a good occupancy at multiplexes and has managed to do well at some key centres. We should note that this film too has got mixed reviews. The movie has Nayantara and Santhanam in the key roles.

"Komban" and "Nanbenda" are facing a huge competition from "Sagaptham" and Hollywood movie "Furious 7", which have been released in 300 and 200 screens respectively in Tamil Nadu. However, the Shanmuga Pandian's film has not got encouraging talk but the Vin Diesel's film has got fantastic reviews. Hence, it is expected to have some impact on the business of Tamil films.
