Actress-turned-politician Jayaprada was apparently annoyed by the behaviour of Bengaluru South DCP, Annamalai Kuppuswamy when she arrived to pay homage to Ambareesh at Kanteerava Studios. A video of her getting into a heated argument has now gone viral.

Reports say that DCP Annamalai Kuppuswamy advised Jayaprada to sit inside her car when she walked into the Kanteerava Studios as the cops were having a tough time to control the crowd, but it did not go down well with her. An argument ensued following this.

In the viral video, the DCP is heard saying, "My name is Annamalai. Whatever you want you can do. [sic]" She hits back at him by saying that the police have to give protection to her. "He might be DCP, but I am also an ex-MP. More than that I am a lady. I need protection," she says before storming off.

However, the complete video of the incident is not available and it is difficult to come to a conclusion about what triggered the war-of-words.

Ambareesh passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on November 24. His mortal remains were kept in his hometown of Mandya and Bengaluru to pay homage and lakhs of people paid tribute to the Rebel Star.

Meanwhile, another actress-turned-politician Ramya has landed in a controversy for failing to pay homage to Ambareesh.
