A woman in Telangana planned the perfect crime inspired by Ram Charan Teja's movie Yevadu but a mutton soup exposed her.

The woman, identified as Swathi Reddy, along with her lover, Rajesh, killed her husband. Rajesh's face was later disfigured with acid so that he could get her husband's face with the help of plastic surgery.

Swathi, who hails from Nagarkurnool district in Telangana, was married to Sudhakar Reddy and had a child with him, but she fell in love with Rajesh, a physiotherapist. They hatched a plan to kill Sudhakar so that they could live together.

On November 27, Swathi and Rajesh killed Sudhakar and burned his body in the forest. She also planned to introduce Rajesh as her husband with the help of plastic surgery.

Swathi poured acid on Rajesh's face him and informed Sudhakar's family that unidentified persons attacked him and disfigured his face. She then rushed her lover to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad where he underwent surgery.

Just when Swathi and her lover thought that they had succeeded in their plan, things took a dramatic turn. During one of the hospital visits, Sudhakar's parents realised that the man claiming to be their son is actually not their son.

They got suspicious when "Sudhakar" refused to drink mutton soup. When he was hospitalised, he was served mutton soup, but he refused to have it claiming that he was vegetarian. The relatives were shocked to hear that because Sudhakar was a non-vegetarian.

Swathi is now in police custody, while Rajesh will be interrogated after he is discharged from the hospital.

Swathi also revealed that she got the plastic surgery inspiration from popular Telugu movie Yevadu, which was released in 2014. The movie, starring Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Shruti Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, is about a youth (Allu Arjun) who suffers injuries when a don tries to kill him. He is saved by a plastic surgeon, who gives him the face of her deceased son (Ram Charan).
