Virat Kohli is in a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of the third Test after he suffered from a back strain in the second Test. However, according to reports, the captain seems to be fit and in good spirits if his practice session is anything to go by.

England coach Trevor Bayliss has however warned his side not to take Kohli any lightly despite his injury as even a half-fit Indian skipper will be enough to cause damage in the third Test.

"It could mean he's more of a dangerous player," Bayliss said.

"Through history, there are a lot of players who have played with an injury and scored runs and taken wickets. I don't know if that focuses the mind more ... but I have just seen him take some slip catches without any problems, so I'm sure he'll be playing. That won't change our approach to the way we play him," he further added.

After his injury flared up in the second test, Kohli had said that needs to tone down the intensity and take care of his body a lot more.

"The good thing is I have five days before the next test. We are confident that with rehab and strengthening I should be ready. Although not the same intensity in the field, I should be good enough to hold a position in the field and be 100% with the bat," Kohli said after his side were blown away at Lord's.

However, conditions at Trent Bridge have always favoured seam and swing and it should be no different in the third Test. James Anderson, who wreaked havoc at Lord's, averages 18.95 and has taken 60 wickets so far. It should be another tough battle for the under-fire Indian batting order.

The Australian also welcomed Ben Stokes back in the squad and said that the entire incident served as a wakeup call for the all-rounder.

Speaking about the team which would be picked for the third Test, Bayliss said that there will be decisions made based on the conditions and with the players they have at their disposal, it is going to be a tough call to make.
