The Bengaluru City Police (BCP) has once again shown their efficiency in keeping the city safe from criminals. A female and a male cop of the city police disguised themselves as a couple to rescue a private firm employee from the hands of kidnappers.

On Sunday, 9 December, a team of four from the Shivaji Nagar police station nabbed criminals from Kolar for kidnapping an employee of a private marketing firm and demanding ransom money of Rs 10 lakh.

Karthik, an employee of Vihaan enterprises, was abducted near Queens Road in Shivaji Nagar station limits by a gang of three members -- Ghousepeer, Hafeez and Farooq.

The gang had invested an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh in the multi-level marketing firm where Karthik was working and they had suffered a loss. To get the money back they had abducted the employee and took him to Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

They contacted the owner of the marketing firm threatening to kill Karthik if an amount of Rs 10 lakh was not paid to them, the ransom amount was later settled for Rs 2 lakh.

The owner alerted the Shivaji Nagar police on the incident and they asked him to tell the kidnappers that the money will be paid to them.

The police team consisting of Super Intendent (SI) Sheela Gowda went in mufti along with police inspectors Syed Tabriz, Sami and Ansar, who caught the criminals from Mulabagilu in Kolar district, Karnataka.

"We went to Mulabagilu where the gang came to take the ransom money and arrested them, after the arrest, we went to Chittoor and rescued Karthik and then came back to Bengaluru", said Syed Tabriz, inspector of police to International Business Times, India.

After nabbing the criminals from Kolar they went and rescued Karthik who was held captive by the gang in Chittoor.

The criminals were apprehended after careful planning and tactics by the police team.
