Australia will look to pick up their first win of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 when they play Bangladesh in a crucial Group A match at The Oval on Monday.

Neither team could come away from their respective opening games with a win, making this, pretty much, a must-win for both sides.

The greater pressure is naturally on Australia, considering they came into this tournament as one of the favourites. And after putting up an iffy performance against New Zealand, Steve Smith's men will be doubly keen to come away with a victory over Bangladesh in this Champions Trophy 2017 match.

Smith was quite critical of his bowlers after the match against New Zealand, where Australia were extremely fortunate to leave with a point, after the match was abandoned. The Kiwis looked on course for a victory after putting up a big score on the board and then leaving the opposition batsmen in trouble, before rain intervened and saved the Australia's blushes.

That, obviously, cannot happen again as far as Australia are concerned and Smith is confident his bowlers, in particular, can bounce back with a solid performance against Bangladesh.

"They were pretty fiery in the nets," Smith said of his bowlers. "I copped quite a few short ones, so maybe they are listening, which is good. As I said it wasn't our best performance (against New Zealand), hopefully it was a little bit of rust."

The Bangladesh batsmen didn't look too rusty against England in the opening game of CT 2017, but, in the end, the home team's batting power proved to be too much for them.

Smith, though, knows this is a Bangladesh team quite capable of beating the so-called big boys, and anything lesser than a 100 per cent will be punished.

"We saw Tamim Iqbal the other day play a really good innings," Smith said. "Mushfiqur [Rahim], the keeper, he's a good young player. They've got some good players in their group. And Mustafizur [Rahman] obviously is a class bowler."

With this being one of only two day-night games in this year's Champions Trophy, it will be interesting to see what the captains decide to do if they win the toss. Bowl first has been the plan for most of them so far, and considering there is a bit of rain predicted for Monday in London, it won't be a surprise if the winning skipper decides to put the opposition in again.
