Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus has ushered in the New Year 2019 with a pleasant surprise for smartphone buyers in India by slashing prices of all three Zenfone Max Pro M1 models.

Previously, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 variants—3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage—for Rs 10,999, Rs 12,999 and Rs 14,999, respectively. Now, they have received Rs 1000 price cut, bringing the costs to Rs 9,999, Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,999, respectively. All three are available exclusively on Flipkart.

Considering the product specifications, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 makes up a compelling device to buy right now. I have reviewed two models-- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage – and have to say, they impressed me a lot.

The battery life is the highlight of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 series. With a massive 5,000mAh cell, it can serve you for more than a day easily under normal usage.

Most importantly, the company is offering the phone with pure Android experience. It runs clean interface and has only three third-party apps onboard leaving extra space in the inbuilt storage and even if that isn't enough; you can expand it through microSD card.

Also, another aspect of Zenfone Max Pro M1, which I loved, is that it is one of the very rare phones in the market to have dedicated three slots to accommodate two SIMs and memory card.

It has to be noted that the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (6GB RAM) model is equipped with advanced camera hardware: 16 MP + 5 MP dual camera on the back and a 16 MP front snapper. In comparison, generic models come with 13 MP + 5 MP rear sensors and an 8 MP front shooter.

On the other hand, Zenfone Max Pro M1 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM+ 64GB storage) series come with a dual 13MP+ 5MP camera on the back and an 8MP selfie snapper.

Rest of the features including the design language and internal specifications remains the same for all three models. It comes with a 5.99-inch full HD+ screen and a metal-clad shell on the back with a fingerprint sensor in the middle.

Inside, the Asus phone comes with pure Android Oreo, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM, and 32GB/64GB storage. It is expected to get Android Pie soon.
