On 18 November Bollywood witnessed one of the most lavish weddings of the decade when Salman Khan's family went all out to organise Arpita Khan's wedding to Aayush Sharma.

While it was clearly one of the most memorable days for the newlyweds, the soiree also brought together on-and-off friends Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. They have been at loggerheads for a while now and have been avoiding each other. But Arpita's sangeet ceremony seemed to have built bridges for the two actors. 

The marriage also drew everyone's attention with some big names from Bollywood and politics gracing the event. Notable among them is the other Khan of Bollywood – Aamir Khan. The "3 Idiots" star not only attended the wedding but looked more like a host than a guest.  Salman Khan is also said to have personally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he could not attend the ceremony due to his foreign tour.

The pre-marriage ceremony began with Sangeet on 16 November in Salman Khan's apartment in Mumbai. The other wedding rituals were performed at Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. The couple tied the knot as per the Punjabi Hindu customs, and it was followed by a party. A farewell lunch dropped the curtains on the mega event.
