Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt, who is reportedly the youngest Bollywood actress, turned 20 on 15 March.
Newbie Alia Bhatt was born to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan and has a sister, Shaheen Bhatt. She also has two half siblings - Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.
After completing her school from Jamnabai Narsee School IB in Mumbai two years ago, she made her debut as actress with Karan Johar's "Student Of The Year" that was released last year. She shared the screen space with two other debutants, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. She recieved lots of accolades from film critics for her performance in "SOTY".
Most people know her now because of "SOTY" but not many may know that she made her acting debut in 1999 when she was just six-years-old. Her first film was Tanuja Chandra's "Sangharsh" featuring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta in the lead roles.
She played the character of young Preity Zinta as Preet Oberoi in the film.
Alia has joined the list of Bollywood celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Sridevi, Urmila Matondkar, Aftab Shivdasani, Imran Khan and others who began their acting career as child actors.
Surprisingly, only a few actors, who started their acting career at a very tender age, made it big in Bollywood. Well, for Alia, we have to wait and watch.
Alia shot to fame with "SOTY" and has appeared on cover page of several magazines. At present, she is busy shooting for her two upcoming films- "Highway" and "2 States".
"Highway" is a romantic drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali, and Alia is paired withRandeep Hood.
"2 States" is the on-screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel with the same name. The film is directed by Sreerag Nambiar and features Arjun Kapoor and Alia in the lead roles.
Both "Highway" and "2 States" are slated to release this year.
