In a recent interview with a men's magazine, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard addressed rumours linking him to co-star Charlize Theron. However, the 'Big Little Lies' actor who plays the role of Perry Wright in the HBO series, neither confirmed nor denied the romance.

"It doesn't affect me. People can think whatever they want," he says of the speculation. "It's impossible to live in a vacuum—you hear, 'Oh, I heard you're dating so-and-so.' Sometimes you're like, 'Yeah, I did.' Sometimes it's, 'Never met the person but give her my number,'" said the actor.

Charlize and Alexander were said to have dated for a short while six years ago, and have reportedly rekindled their romance while filming for Seth Rogen's political comedy, 'Flarsky' which is slated to release in 2019. Apparently, the duo flirted quite a bit with each other on set.

Theron and Skarsgard had previously gone on a few dates and he even met her adopted kids, Jackson (6) and August (2). However, although they parted ways soon after, the couple have remained in constant touch.

Skarsgard revealed that although he's busy with work commitments at the moment, he's not entirely opposed to the idea of settling down. "'I really enjoy the adventure of traveling, meeting new people and working a lot. Hopefully one day I'll settle down."

The actor was recently linked to Harry Style's former flame, model Camille Rowe and was previously in a relationship with British model Alexa Chung. However, they called it quits in 2017 due to busy schedules. But the duo was spotted together few months later.

Alexander's performance as Perry Wright, the abusive husband opposite Nicole Kidman in HBO's 'Big Little Lies', earned him immense praise along with Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. While, his character met with an unexpected end in season 1, there's a chance fans might see him return in the next season. "We're taking it in a slightly different direction this season," said Skarsgard.

Meanwhile, season 2 has Meryl Streep joining the ensemble cast – Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shaileen Woodley, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern. The veteran actress will be playing Skarsgard's character's mother. "I haven't worked with her yet, but I'm excited," he said.
