The trailer of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie "Theri," released Sunday, March 20, during a grand event in Chennai, has been opened to tremendous response from the audience. The 2-minute video begins with Vijay and actress Meena's daughter Nainika sharing some moments together and also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson and Radhika Sarathkumar, among many others. 

In the action-packed commercial entertainer, Vijay will be seen in double roles and the actor has donned the police avatar again after the hit movie "Jilla." The upcoming movie also has Mahendran playing an antagonist, KS Ravikumar, Santhanam, TM Karthik and others in the supporting cast.

The trailer has gone viral on social media and has received more than 1.3 million views within a day of its release on the YouTube channel of Think Music India. Meanwhile, the seven songs of the movie, sung by Vijay, GV Prakash Kumar, Thenisai Thendral Deva, Balachandran, Hariharan, Saindhavi, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, Uthara Unni Krishnan, Neethi Mohan, Bombay Jayashri, T Rajender, Sonu Kakkar and Arunraja Kamaraj, were also released in a grand event Sunday.

Written and directed by Atlee Kumar, "Theri" is one of the much-anticipated flicks of the year and is the production venture of Kalaipuli S Dhanu. It is scheduled to hit the theatres April 14.

Meanwhile, celebrities, including Dhanush, Amala Paul, Nikki Galrani, Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya, among others, have praised the trailer of the upcoming movie.
