Samsung unveils new pink-gold-hued Galaxy S7 series

Leading smartphone-maker Samsung launched the new pink-gold-based Galaxy S7 and S7 edge variants in Seoul, South Korea, on April 20.

"Pink Gold was chosen as it, like the other colors available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is a natural color that provides a sense of comfort. These hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces, [sic]" Samsung said in a statement.

With this launch, the Galaxy S7 series is now available in five colours — black onyx, gold platinum, white pearl, silver titanium and pink gold.

Samsung confirmed that the new pink gold Galaxy S7 and S7 edge would be initially available in South Korea from Wednesday. They will be released in other select global regions later this year.

Nothing but the colour of this device has changed in the new offering. The Samsung Galaxy S7 series comes with QHD (2560x1440p) display, a Snapdragon 820/Exynos 8890 (depending on the region of sale) processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt memory, a dual-pixel 12MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, Smart OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 5MP snapper with F/1.7 aperture on the front.

Both the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge boast IP68 water-resistant certification, which means the devices can survive five feet underwater for close to 30 minutes.
