Killings on border unacceptable: Former Bangladesh Foreign Minister

Agartala, July 13 (ANI): Former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Dipu Moni strongly said that deaths on the borders and use of lethal weapons by border guards are unacceptable. She added that the killings at the border are a very serious concern for Bangladesh and the country had taken this up with the Indian authorities very strongly. Moni added that the border killings fortunately have gone down but should go down to zero. Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on June 26 held talks with Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka, to bolster strategic partnership. Rajkot, July 13 (ANI): Food inflation nears 10 percent with prices of vegetables like tomatoes sky rocketing in the domestic markets due to weak rainfall since the start of monsoon season, which has raised concerns of a first drought in the country in five years. The retail price of tomatoes in local markets has risen to Rupees 50 per Kg in Gujarat. Students participate in marathon as a tribute to mothers

Organised by members of an old age home, Apna Ghar (our home), the marathon took place with the intention of reminding people of their mother's sacrifices and so that no mother is sent to an old age home when she needs her children the most. The event focused on making people aware of the life a mother lives for her children. Present at the event were senior women citizens who live in an old age home. Kashmir shuts down in remembrance of 1931 uprising against monarchy

Srinagar, July 13 (ANI): Kashmir on Sunday observed a shutdown to observe the anniversary of July 13, 1931- a major uprising against the Dogra monarchy. Separatist Hurriyat Conference leaders called for strike in a bid to pay homage to the 22 Kashmiri youth who were killed on that day, which is also observed as a state holiday. Modi to attend BRICS summit in Brazil

Palestinians clash with Israeli troops in the West Bank

Hebron/ Bethlehem, July 13 (ANI): Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli military forces in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Hebron early Sunday morning in protest against an Israeli offensive in Gaza. Israeli troops responded with stun grenades, tear gas and live fire. In Hebron, seven Palestinians were injured from live fire. Another 20 were injured by rubber bullets. Five more infants die at Malda hospital, toll reaches 12

Malda, July 13 (ANI): In a worsening situation at the Malda Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal, five more infant deaths have been reported on Sunday. This comes less than a day after as many as seven newborn died at the hospital in 24 hours time.
