Opposition parties say there is no hope from Railway Budget

New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Leaders of the Opposition parties said on Thursday that there are no hopes from the Narendra Modi government’s Railway Budget which will be presented in the Parliament today. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is a new minister and it is difficult to say whether he will be able to fulfill people’s expectations or not. SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that the Railway Minister, if wants, can give a lot of gifts to the common public but the government will work only for the benefit of the corporate. Assam police arrest two Maoists, recover arms

Jorabat, Feb 26 (ANI): Assam Police arrested two suspected Maoists and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions from Jorabat area of Guwahati. According to reports, the police had launched an operation in the area based on intelligence inputs. The arrested, meanwhile, have been identified as Biswajit Sangma and Runa Sangma who were allegedly involved in an illegal arms consignment. India fully prepared to tackle swine flu, says health ministry

New Delhi/ Ahmedabad, Feb 26 (ANI): Union Minister of State for health, Shripad Naik said that all measures to combat swine flu were in place amid rising cases of H1N1 virus. Health Minister JP Nadda had made a statement in both houses of parliament regarding the swine flu situation in the country. He said that teams were sent to guide and assist state governments on H1N1 virus as per need. Naik said apart from the regular medicines, his ministry was also supervising the usage of traditional medicines. Meanwhile, in bid to prevent swine flu from spreading, Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, prohibiting mass gatherings without prior permission, has been imposed in Ahmedabad city. Swine flu is caused by H1N1 virus. Symptoms for swine flu include high fever, headache, muscle pain, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain and internal and external bleeding. Feb 26, 2015

Singapore, Rajasthan sign water management pact

Jaipur, Feb 26 (ANI): Singapore and Rajasthan signed a joint water management agreement in pink city of Jaipur. Singapore Foreign Minister K Shanmugam and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje were present during the signing between the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) set up by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, and the Public Health Engineering Department of the Government of Rajasthan. The agreements that were signed included water management and governance of waste water treatment, which is expected to help the desert state to achieve a sustainable water management system. Shanmugam said the joint venture would see development not only for Rajasthan but also for Singapore in the long run. Tokyo /Bangkok, Feb 25 (ANI): KYOCERA provided advanced solar panels for electricity generation at the Kagoshima Nanatsujima Mega Solar Power Plant in Kagoshima Prefecture. The plant, launched in November 2013, has a power output of 70 megawatts and is constructed in an area of 1.27 million square meters. Nanatsujima is close to the active volcano Sakurajima, but the solar panels here are installed in a safe area. The plant coexists with natural conditions utilizing advanced technology.
